Football & Noah

On this page of my portfolio, we look at what I love most, football. I have played football since 2010 played until the end of 2023. Playing for 13 years gave me lots of experience and stories to share. In high school, for my final capstone project I talked about how football has impacted me and my mental health. I hope my stories can help others and show what a simple sport can do for a person.

This is a photo from this year (2023) of me playing quarterback for the Richmond Raiders. Eventually I ended up playing multiple positions throughout the season including tight end, linebacker, cornerback, and even long snapper.

The 2023 final season of playing football and I would not have traded it for anything else. Even though the outcome was not preferred, it was still a season that I learned and enjoyed so much thanks to those teammates and coaches around me.

It was a huge confidence shift after being told at the start of the season that I would be the captain.

Football + Friends = Fun

I have been also been playing 5 on 5 football all my life and in 2022, my good friends and I assembled our own team. Not only did that mean we would have good chemistry, but playing the sport you love with your best friends was a gift of its own. In this photo, you see me throwing the ball in the direction of two of my lifelong friends, this picture represents that friends are family.

Young Noah & Football

These two photos are from around the same age, a couple years into me playing football. The photo on the left shows me pictured top left next to my mother who was also a football coach for almost 10 whole years.

Celebrating a Long Career:

My journey in football extends beyond the touchlines and into the narrative of a long and rewarding career. The longevity of my playing days is a testament to a deep-seated passion for the game, a love affair with the ball that has endured seasons, victories, and the inevitable challenges that come with a life dedicated to football.

🌟 Why Football Matters:

  • Universal Language: Football transcends boundaries, cultures, and languages. It’s a universal language that unites people from all walks of life, fostering connections and creating memories that last a lifetime.
  • Life Lessons: The game isn’t just about winning or losing; it’s about learning, adapting, and growing. Football imparts invaluable life lessons, shaping character and instilling values that extend far beyond the pitch.

Proud Accomplishment

In the year of 2023, I played my final game of football and it was bittersweet. Our team that year was not the greatest nor were we expected to me. It hurt knowing that I might be playing my final downs. Just like that it was over. Almost a week went by and it was just beginning to hit the heart. All of a sudden I get a text from my football manager. I still get to play one more game. The opportunity presented itself and I was selected to the mainland select football team who plays against the island selects in December on the Terry Fox Field at SFU. It was a dream come true especially since that meant I got to play football again. I am honoured to be a B.C. select and this is a high accomplishment to myself.
